Finding Purpose in Yoga

When participating in a yoga practice, poses can be grouped into approximately 11 series, each having a personality or purpose in gaining perspective, breath, movement, and awareness!!   So, in following Baron Baptiste, he suggests these in an order:

1. Integration Series:  Presence

2. Sun Salutes:  Awakening

3. Warrior Series:  Vitality

4. Balance Series: Equanimity

5. Triangle Series: Grouding

6. Backbending Series:  Igniting

7. Abdominal Series:  Stability

8. Inversion Series:  Rejuvenation

9. HIp Series:  Opening

10. Forward Bending series:  Release

11. Surrender to Gravity Series:  Deep Rest

 

This is simply wonderful!!   I have separated these series myself, before knowing of Baron’s insights and can wholeheartedly agree his description of what is occurring is absolutely correct!!   Do these in a sequential order and you will find a new light and energy in your body as you dissolve the many walls!!

    I have recently been working out with your yoga on BYT TV
    I enjoy your practices very much.
    How many yoga show are there for BYT TV
    I hope these shows continue I look forward to them when they are Yoga

    I love your 8 am yoga show, but can’t follow along while getting the kids off to school. The few minutes I fit in do great things for me, but I want to do it all. Are the 21 episodes you mentioned above on the DVD, Season 1? I looked at the description but can’t tell.

    I have been following Total Body Workout on BYUTV for over one year now, and I feel absolutely wonderful. I bought your Season One DVD’s and when I can’t catch you on TV I take advantage of your yoga practices at my own leisure. I’ve told many friends and family members about your show and they have recently started tuning in.

    I have been trying to develop a workout for myself, since I recently moved and my new TV provider does not carry the BYU network.

    I just stumbled upon the above list of 11 series and find it very interesting. Is there a list of the asanas that make-up each of the series? If so, I would dearly love to find it.

    Hopefully I will soon have a different TV provider and again be able to watch your show.
